Unimatic x Norwegian Rain U1-NR
Our Unimatic U1-NR is a limited edition of 54. The watch collaborates between Unimatic and Norwegian Rain, a rainwear apparel brand based in Bergen, the rainiest city in Europe. Celebrating ten years of the brand, they wanted to capture a moment in time that encapsulates the essence of what Norwegian Rain stands for. A 40mm 316 stainless steel case coated in brushed black DLC tapers towards the lugs with a subtle curve for a comfortable fit on the wrist. On the right side, a screw-down crown with crown guards. Between the lugs at 6 o’clock, you find an engraved Unimatic U1. A minimal 120 Click unidirectional bezel has a single lume pip at 12, a signature of Unimatic. The 2.5mm thick double domed sapphire has an AR coating on the inside. The dial is a first of its kind made up of two layers composed of an individually oxidised solid copper layer graduating to a unique green and blue hue with cutout hour markers showing through the brushed copper base. Skeletonised ladder hands are made of brushed copper with a reversed lollipop centre seconds hand. The dial is sealed by a proprietary technique to preserve the unique process. On the reverse, a screw-down case back with engraving celebrating the collaboration and the ten year anniversary of the brand. Across the centre, the number is out of 54. Inside an Automatic calibre Seiko NH35A, 24 jewels, 21,600 beats per hour. The watch comes fitted with a heavy-duty Unimatic NATO strap and a signed black DLC buckle. Comes with a unique branding pelican case and papers.

History of Unimatic Watches
Founded in 2015 by Giovanni Moro and Simone Nunziato, UNIMATIC has quickly risen as an innovative force in horology, blending minimalist design with robust functionality. The two met at the Politecnico di Milano and shared a passion for vintage Seiko watches. Despite following different career paths initially, their continued dialogue about watches led to the creation of UNIMATIC. Starting as a side project, their first limited run of 300 pieces gained significant exposure when Colette in Paris began carrying their products. A pivotal article by Hodinkee further catalyzed UNIMATIC's transformation from a hobby into a serious business.
UNIMATIC's philosophy centers on functional minimalism, stripping away unnecessary elements to focus on essential design and functionality. Each watch is pressure-tested to withstand depths of 300 meters, exemplifying their commitment to durability. The brand's collaborative approach between Moro and Nunziato has resulted in a cohesive design language, emphasizing refinement and functionality over decoration. UNIMATIC has grown organically, relying on word-of-mouth and strong designs rather than traditional marketing. Their commitment to Italian craftsmanship and local production has positioned them at the forefront of a new era in Italian watchmaking. As they continue to evolve, UNIMATIC remains a unique and influential player in the watch industry.
