Ming 17.09 Blue
Introducing the Ming 17.09 Blue Version 2.0: an upgraded version of the popular daily wear timepiece with enhanced functionality and design refinements. This new iteration features laser-etched, lume-filled sapphire indices that sit beneath the top crystal and illuminate with captivating intensity. The indices are inspired by Ming's graphic design language and are complemented by a striking new handset derived from the 20.01 Chronographs, adding a bold touch to the dial.
The dial of the Ming 17.09 Blue Version 2.0 has a two-piece construction, with a fine Clous-de-Paris pattern in the center and a circular brushed outer portion. This design creates a dynamic visual presentation that responds dynamically to changes in ambient light. The watch is encased in polished and brushed 316L stainless steel, with proportional revisions to enhance its wrist presence while maintaining its wearable 38mm size, catering to a diverse range of wrist sizes. The lugs have been reprofiled with a continuous twist, extending the brushing seamlessly from the case flanks to the underside of the lugs, preserving Ming's signature aesthetic flair.
In addition to cosmetic enhancements, the Ming 17.09 Blue Version 2.0 features an exclusive independent hour hand adjustment mechanism developed in collaboration with Manufacture Schwarz-Etienne. Based on the Sellita SW330-2 movement, this modification allows for the independent adjustment of the hour hand, offering added convenience for users. With functions including hours and minutes, along with an independently adjustable hour hand, this timepiece exemplifies versatility and practicality.
Paired with a handmade strap by Jean Rousseau Paris, featuring black alcantara with blue alcantara lining, and equipped with a signed flying blade pin buckle, the Ming 17.09 Blue Version 2.0 combines style with functionality. This watch represents excellence in watchmaking craftsmanship.

History of Ming Watches
Horologer MING, founded in 2017 by photographer and watch enthusiast Ming Thein, has quickly become a notable player in the watch industry. Born from Thein's passion for horology and frustration with the industry's increasing prices and pretentiousness, MING was created alongside a group of like-minded enthusiasts. The brand's philosophy centers on delivering mechanical watches with distinctive designs, exceptional value, and integrity across all price points. MING's approach is characterized by its reductive design language, featuring strong symmetry, flared lugs, and visual layering that creates dynamic appearances under different lighting conditions.
Despite its young age, MING has garnered significant acclaim, including a GPHG shortlisting for its 19.01 model in 2018. The brand operates through collaborations with various partners, allowing it to produce a range of watches from entry-level to high-end pieces. MING's unique position in the market stems from its commitment to transparency, limited production runs, and a customer-centric approach. As the brand continues to evolve, it faces challenges due to its Malaysian base and lack of a local watchmaking ecosystem. However, MING remains focused on innovation, exploring new complications and designs while staying true to its founding principles of value, integrity, and coherent design.
